Inter, Marotta: “Zielinski? If all goes well he will be ours”

The Inter CEO spoke to Dazn about the market and the head-to-head for the Tricolore with Juventus: “I have already communicated our interest in the Pole to De Laurentiis. I didn’t leave Juve because of the CR7 operation”

Andrea Ramazzotti

– MILAN

Beppe Marotta confessed to Dazn all his satisfaction with the victory against Juventus which launched Inter to +4 in the standings, with a match to recover (the 28th at San Siro against Atalanta). The CEO However, the Nerazzurri took on the role of the fireman: “We need to keep our feet on the ground – he underlined – because we haven’t won anything. Compared to last year we have 13 points more, an important goal difference (+41, ed.), but I repeat not we won nothing. We will find dangers in all fields, especially in provincial ones like Salerno, where we will have to demonstrate that we are a great team and that we have the same approach as against Juventus. We are first with merit, but the finish line is still far away. Inzaghi? He is a coach who is growing enormously, good from a human and tactical point of view. His merits in these years of victories are notable. Our current cycle began with Spalletti, was carried forward by Conte and then Simone arrived who, with his lightheartedness, put into practice some fun football. He has a teammate relationship with the players and this is an advantage. In the locker room there is a positive air because there are good guys. And also at a corporate level we have created an important team with Ausilio, Baccin and Zanetti who are doing a great job. Today here at Inter we have a winning mentality thanks to the path we have taken.”

ZIELINSKI AND THE ZERO PARAMETERS

Marotta then spoke of the incoming zero parameters, especially of Zielinski, an operation which has effectively been concluded: “I spoke with De Laurentiis and informed him that we are testing the waters with Zielinski. Ausilio is working and, if everything goes through, we will announce it and weave it for next year. It is part of those situations that the sports area must consider. The Thuram blow last summer? He has always shown himself to be a talent, but then he had that injury… On parameter zero was an important operation: he is a talent, a very good boy and… a son of art who has a father who gives him a great hand. The free transfer purchases arise from the work of the technical area and the scouts : they monitor the released players and then they contact them and negotiate with them. It’s easier to get to the white smoke because we are Inter and compared to when I arrived here, the six titles won and the two Europa League and Champions League finals played (and lost, ed.) have increased our appeal. Plus there is the city of Milan which pleases and attracts.”

RENEWALS AND DREAMS

Renewals chapter, with negotiations underway for Lautaro and the others: “We have no worries because there are no players who will be released in June. We want to extend the contracts of Lautaro and Barella, but there will also be other positions that we will analyze calmly.” Then on the transfer market: “Who would I buy if I had unlimited money? Bellingham keeps me entertained… Let’s say so… But I don’t want to talk about players from other clubs.”

CR7 AND THE FUTURE

Final with the Cristiano Ronaldo-Juventus operation to reiterate that that was not the cause of the Lady’s farewell: “The ownership wanted to rejuvenate the management and for this reason my path and that of Juventus were divided. The CR7 deal in part I didn’t agree with: I’m speaking from an economic and financial point of view, but, I repeat, it wasn’t what determined my farewell. A cycle had simply ended, as happens with managers in many companies. My future? I extended the contract until 2027 on the proposal of president Steven Zhang. Then I will be 70 years old… Being in love with football and sport, at that point, I would like to work in this world on a political level.”
