Returning to the Romanian coach, Marotta reveals what the secret of the choice was. “As Inzaghi said, on Monday we made the consensual resolution and on Tuesday we had already decided to focus on Chivu – he explains -. We did it with considered courage, because he had a CV as a winning player, the fact of having been captain of Ajax at 21 and a winning coach in the Nerazzurri’s spring: all these characteristics led us to decide calmly. The Nerazzurri president assures that he never had doubts about the technical leadership, despite a handicap start. “After the first negative period, but characterized by very good and positive performances, we understood that the team was very united and the coach was their leader – guarantees Marotta -. I am confident because there is a group consolidated over the years and because of the fact that we have an Italian hard core. There are players who play in Serie A, Italians, who can be right for us. As well as foreign players with a certain experience, because we know that you can’t win with young people: we need the right mix with those who bring the culture of victory.
