Inter, Gosens and Correa: when the Nerazzurri are back

The German and the Argentine are trampling and the coach is already looking forward to the newfound wealth of solutions available

You begin to feel tired, at Inter and beyond. Simone Inzaghi admitted it and some Nerazzurri players said it too, from Edin Dzeko to Danilo D’Ambrosio. Given that the calendar does not allow for quiet weeks and there is also the fateful match with Bologna to be recovered, the Italian champions can only hope for fresh forces. Felipe Caicedo against Genoa tasted the pitch as an Interista for the first time and slowly it will become clear what space will be reserved for him, but in the meantime the expectation is growing for Robin Gosens and Joaquin Correa.

Derby goal

Proceeding in order, the German missed the Ligurian trip but seems well focused on the match against Milan on Tuesday. The eventual call-up for the Ferraris would have been only symbolic, while for days the fixed thought of the player and coach has been to be there for the derby. And the program is also to take the field in the final minutes, maybe a quarter of an hour. At the moment it is unlikely that it is something more, because the former Atalanta has been out since September and must regain confidence with the pitch and take a little breath. Its impact – in the long term – is easy to imagine: alla Dea has been a train on the left for dozens and dozens of matches, with a massive presence in the goal area that at the moment would be a boon for Inzaghi. And it must be considered that Ivan Perisic is having a good time: a little rest would be appreciated and the whim of advancing the Croatian in case of need as seen in the past would be at least a viable option at a “logistical” level.

More calmly

The speech on Correa is similar, but a few days late. On the other hand, Gosens has already started working with his teammates for some training, after a couple of sessions halfway between individual and group exercises. From this point of view, more patience is needed with the Argentine, but it is a short time difference: pre-Genoa it was hypothesized a return between Milan and Salernitana, now the situation will be updated with the answers of the next training sessions: today he has joined half sitting in the group, it is already a further step. With these assumptions, by next week “El Tucu” could already have a few official minutes. What he can give, we already know. Since the start of the season Correa has run into a couple of isolated bad days, but has shown flashes of what the summer reunion with Inzaghi, who knows the player well, can yield. His loot speaks of four goals divided equally into two braces in Verona and Udinese, but above all it is the alternative to Dzeko-Lautaro who can multiply the options available to the coach in the attacking tandem. Thus the minutes allowed for rest would certainly be less painful than what was experienced this February.
