The xeneize club comes out after days of hesitation and long-distance flirting with the Chilean. The Argentines offer a lower wage than Flamengo and Galatasaray, but focus on the desire for Bombonera del Guerriero
Boca Juniors falls on Arturo Vidal with a concrete offer. This is ensured by the main Argentine newspapers, which open today with the details of a proposal “already sent to the Chilean and his entourage”, according to what they anticipate Olé And TyC Sports. The decisive entry into the scene of the Argentines, with whom Vidal has long flirted even in the past, can unlock the knot of the contractual resolution between Inter and the Chilean: when the Warrior will have defined his future, the Nerazzurri will activate the termination clause (equal to 4 million) present in the contract that binds Vidal to Milan until June 2023. The Boca offer, guarantee from Buenos Aires, would be less attractive economically than those of Flamengo and Galatasaray, but it would also be the one that most excites the player’s imagination.
ARGENTINA OFFER
–
Until yesterday Vidal had on his plate a proposal from Flamengo, willing to guarantee him about 3.5 million dollars for two seasons, and one from Galatasaray which even exceeds five million (for an annual contract with an option on the second). But the Warrior he preferred to wait, to enjoy the holidays between Colombia, Miami and his Chile (where he is now), because in reality – argentine media claim – he was hoping for a proposal from Boca. A proposal that, despite the flirtations and mutual winks of the last month, has only arrived in the last hours. Economically, the offer would be the least attractive. But the Argentines would have offered the longest contract (until December 2025, with a termination clause in favor of the player in December 2023) and the guarantee of fighting both nationally and continental.
THE KNOTS
–
Vidal would therefore have the possibility of wearing a shirt for which he has always admitted he has a weakness, while Boca would place a market hit that would also raise its ambitions after a few meager seasons. The only hitch, which Boca is obviously sure to be able to overcome, is that relating to the places reserved for non-EU citizens, which in Argentina are six. Boca will occupy them all with the return of the Venezuelan Hurtado from the loan, so it will be necessary to make a sale before eventually being able to register the Chilean. All this, among other things, done with a certain haste, in order to allow Boca to enter Vidal also for any Libertadores quarterfinals (in case of next week’s round against Cortinthians). We live in the same hurry at the Nerazzurri, where we count on freeing up space (and resources) as soon as possible.
