Inter beat Genoa 2-0 at San Siro and won their eighth straight win in Serie A. The Nerazzurri momentarily lead by 13 over second-placed Milan, Allegri’s men take on Cremonese on Sunday at 12.30pm. The rossoblù, on the other hand, remain only +3 on third-last Lecce. Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi spoke to Sky Sport after the match: “I’m not satisfied, I’m clear in my analysis and I analyze everything: we didn’t give up and we stayed in the game, we conceded goals when we were putting our heads out there. We didn’t do our best to put them in difficulty, not because we didn’t want to, but against these teams you have to be perfect.”
De Rossi’s words
De Rossi then continued: “They dominated the pitch and when we could have hurt them we didn’t succeed. They deserved to win over the first leg and the second leg, they are stronger than us, we can play a great match and hope they aren’t in form like tonight. The ranking is bad and it remains the same, but it’s still a long way off.”
The rossoblù coach also continued his analysis of the match: “I don’t just take the last minutes as a positive. I knew it was very difficult and that we had to play the perfect match. Chivu is doing an extraordinary job. We tried and we gave it our all like in Genoa. We didn’t set out to come here to lose but you have to accept the result, which confirmed what we knew.”
De Rossi also focused on the episodes: “To score points you have to be perfect, exploit the episodes in your favor, be lethal and not concede anything. If they win 14 games out of 15 there must be a reason. Today perhaps their pride was wounded after the Champions League. Is Dimarco’s goal similar to Totti’s against Sampdoria? Dimarco scored a great goal, but I would leave Francesco’s goal in the Olympus of goals in the Italian championship. It only comes out of the minds of the players slightly crazy geniuses”.
