The highly exciting semi-final duel between the Italians and the flick team delivered gates without end. Both teams thus ensured the creation of a best value in the Champions League.
The semi-final duels in the Champions League between Inter Milan and FC Barcelona had everything that makes football-and a little more. Due to their two spectacular meetings, the two clubs set a best value in the premier class.
After the 3: 3 in the first leg and the 4: 3 after extra time in the second leg, there were 13 goals. Never before had there been a more goal-rich knockout duel in the history of the Champions League.
Only the games between FC Liverpool and AS Roma in the semi-finals 2017/18 can keep up, which the English won a total of 7: 6, as well as the round of 16 between FC Bayern and Sporting Lisbon, which ended in 2008/09 with 12: 1 afterwards and second leg for the Munich.
In the end, only the Italians who are now in the final in the Munich Allianz Arena could be happy. The opponent becomes either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain. So far, this pairing has been significantly gym. The French won the first leg in London 1-0. The second leg will be on Wednesday (9 p.m. in the T-Online Live ticker).
Ironically, with Inters right -back Denzel Dumfries in the first leg and goalkeeper Yann Sommer in the second leg, two players were chosen as the respective player of the game, who are actually primarily responsible for the gate jack. If the former Gladbach and Bayern goalkeeper had not kept so outstanding on Tuesday, the sole record for the most top knockout duel would have been in it.
