Insurance agent (42) shoots dead his wife, their five children and mother-in-law in US after divorce | Abroad

An insurance agent shot and killed seven family members in Enoch City, Utah. In addition to his mother-in-law, Michael Haight (42) also killed his wife and their five children. Then he committed suicide. It is possible that his stop went too far because his wife Tausha (40) had filed for divorce two weeks earlier.

Alarm bells rang on Wednesday after Tausha failed to show up for an appointment. When officers went to take a look at their home around 4 p.m. (local time), they made the lurid discovery.

Seven-year-old twins were among the victims. Two girls (12 and 17) and a boy (4) also died. Tausha’s mother Gail (78), who lived with the family, also did not survive the tragedy.

Eyewitnesses saw some family members participating in a church activity on Tuesday. They were part of the Mormon community.

According to a friend, Haight had already left his job the previous week. Police Chief Jackson Ames said that several investigations were conducted against the family years ago. He did not reveal exactly what was wrong. In the recent past there were no more problems.

Tausha had filed for divorce papers on December 21. “I met her twice. Our conversations did not show that she was afraid that her husband would physically harm her,” said her lawyer James Park.

“Tausha was the sweetest person you could imagine. She never spoke ill of anyone and was always committed to helping others,” said neighbor Tina Brown. President Joe Biden and his wife Jill also expressed their condolences.
