Everything takes place during the match between Achillea and Giallo -Beverete Griffin. A parent of a Griffin player starts a live commentary on YouTubecommenting on the match in tone on. But when the young referee assigns a restoration from the bottom instead of a corner kick, the narrative degenerates: “But is this a female arbitus?”, “Why don’t you go to do the gnocchi?”up to a vulgar “He doesn’t understand a c …, he is a woman”. The insults, transmitted in real time, remain online even after the game, witnessing the level of misogyny still present in the world of football.
The reaction in the stands and indignation
Alessandro Natali, father of a player from the opposing teamassisted disconcerted to the scene. “I am amazed and angrybut above all I do not understand how it can still be done so today », tells in an interview with Corriere della Sera. Sitting in the stands, it realizes that the public around laughs and indulges the attitude of the improvised commentator. In an impetus of indignation, he decides to intervene directly: “I clearly told him that that language was unacceptable”. And, at least for that commentary, the tone changes.
Natali does not stop there. He chooses to share the incident on Facebook, publishing a video with the salient moments of the commentary. “We can’t pretend anything. These behaviors must be reported, shown. If we continue to remain silent, nothing will never change ».
