Instagram now also supports chronological order

It will be easier to see the publications in chronological order in the future.

Updates for accounts tracked in the early days of Instagram were completed in the order they were published. Thus, the user always saw the most recent images, and not, for example, images published three days ago among the new images.

In 2016, Instagram significantly revamped the way content is displayed to users. In the last six years, users have not been shown the latest releases, but “what interests them”.

Instagram has now announced that users can once again adjust their publications to be displayed in chronological order, with the latest updates at the top of the feed. There are two new views: Favorites and Following.

You can switch between views by pressing the Instagram logo in the upper left corner of the Instagram home view. This will open a drop-down menu from which you can select “Favorites” or “Following”. If the drop-down menu doesn’t appear, make sure you’ve updated your Instagram.

The tracked view is, in effect, the original view in which the contents of the people you follow are displayed in the order they are shared. Also in the Following view, publications are displayed in chronological order, but only accounts marked as favorites are included in this view.

The home view of Instagram will remain the same despite the reform. The home view shows the user the accounts being tracked and the suggested content.

– Surveys show that people are happy with the classified feed, so Instagram is not going to set the chronological view as the default.
