Innovative Eyewear becomes a license partner for smart glasses

The US outdoor label Eddie Bauer is expanding its range. On Wednesday, the Miami-based eyewear manufacturer Innovative Eyewear Inc. announced that it will develop and produce smart glasses from the traditional brand in the future. Innovative Eyewear announced that the company has entered into a corresponding multi-year license partnership with the fashion and media group Authentic Brands Group LLC (ABG), which acquired the trademark rights from Eddie Bauer last year. Eddie Bauer’s first smart eyewear collection is expected to be launched in 2023.

The glasses manufacturer, which offers its own label Lucyd, among other things, has been a smart glass license partner of the Nautica brand, which also belongs to ABG, for several months. Welcoming the newly announced expansion of the partnership, Henry Stupp, ABG’s President, Lifestyle EMEA-India, said: “We are delighted to be working with Lucyd to expand Eddie Bauer’s eyewear offering,” he said in a statement. “Eddie Bauer is known for innovating across all product categories. With Lucyd’s Bluetooth technology, we are raising the brand’s standards in this emerging category.”
