The Wimbledon debut by Ella Seidel has ended with tears in an injury drama. The 20-year-old bent in her first round against the Spanish tennis player Jessica Bouzas Maneiro at 3: 6, 2: 3 on the edge of Court 8 and had to give up.
Seidel was only able to walk limp and supported. For them it was the second participation in a Grand Slam tournament.
“The first diagnosis is that a volume has torn and I take six to eight weeks,” said the qualifier after an ultrasound with a connected right foot. An MRI examination on Wednesday should bring clarity. “I didn’t hope that my first main field match came to an end, but it was a great experience.”
