A fire broke out in an apartment building on Cort van der Lindenstraat in Zaandam at the beginning of the evening. The fire is now under control. According to the security region, someone has been taken to the hospital.
The fire service has announced via Twitter that it is a raging fire. It is not yet clear how the fire started. Surrounding homes have been evacuated according to the security region, it is not yet clear when they can go home again.
A witness reports to NH News that the public is kept at a distance. It is not clear if the injured person is a resident of the house.
