A motorist was injured last night in an accident in Hoogersmilde. The car crashed into a tree along the Rijksweg (N371), trapping the driver.
The fire brigade managed to free the victim from the car. A medical team arrived at the scene of the accident with the trauma helicopter to assist with the relief efforts. The driver of the car was rushed to hospital after treatment at the scene.
As far as we know, no other vehicles were involved in the accident, the police are conducting further investigation into the circumstances.
