Private Dutch investors invest less in American companies. Nearly one in three say they are investing less in the United States due to tensions between the EU and the US. That according to research by ING. According to the bank, approximately half of investors are considering including European companies in their portfolio more often.
“Investors respond not only to company results, but also to geopolitical developments,” says head of ING Investment Office Bob Homan. “In this phase, investors are looking for more stability and they often find that in European markets.”
According to ING, the shift towards Europe is more widely noticeable. Almost half of investors also choose European products or services more often. About half also buy fewer or no American products and book holidays to the United States less quickly or no longer.
