Infectionist advised unvaccinated senior citizens to self-isolate

Citizens over the age of 60 who are not vaccinated against coronavirus infection and with chronic diseases must observe the self-isolation regime, Vladimir Chulanov, chief freelance specialist in infectious diseases of the Russian Ministry of Health, said in a conversation with RBC.

The specialist also recommended transferring employees to a remote work mode, especially older people and those with chronic diseases.

Crimean authorities will return self-isolation for the elderly

Chulanov noted that omicron infection can be severe, especially in previously unvaccinated people. Therefore, he urged people to get vaccinated, or, if 6 months or more have passed since vaccination or an illness, re-vaccination.
