Mannheim celebrates Sonja Zimmermann

Regular time ended 2-2. Then two converted penalties by Sonja Zimmermann decided in favor of Mannheim.

The Cologne team led 2-0 in the first half after goals from Maja Weber and Paula Brux.

The second half belonged to Mannheim, who were able to equalize with goals from Nadine Kanler and Isabella Schmidt.

Dusseldorf with top performance

In the first semi-final, the Düsseldorf team showed a strong game against the Alster club and deservedly won 7:4 (4:3).

The first half was already a wild ride. After goals and Elisa Gräve (2) and Selin Oruz, the DHC led 3:1 after a goal by Lisa Alteburg, before the Hamburgers were able to equalize with Felicia Wiedermann and Alteburg again. In the first half, Oruz brought Düsseldorf back up again – 4:3.

After the change, the game was balanced for a long time. Then the 2019 champions pulled away 6-3 with goals from Luisa Steindor and Sara Strauss. Viktoria Huse reduced it again to 4:6, before the women from Düsseldorf put the end through Lilly Stoffelsma.

Dusseldorf into the Final Four without a fight

The Rhinelanders made it into the Final Four without a fight after opponents Zehlendorfer Wespen had to pass due to corona. Last year, the German championship was not played due to the corona. In 2020, the club on the Alster won the championship.

Mannheim and last year’s winner Cologne make the start for the men, after the duel between Berlin and Harvestehude the four finalists have been determined.
