After the World Cup dream was shattered, the Indonesian Football Association parted ways with national coach Patrick Kluivert. After open and respectful discussions, it was agreed to end the cooperation, said the association, which also expressed the Dutchman’s highest recognition for his commitment and contribution to Indonesian football.
Kluivert only took up the position in January and had an average points average of 1.25 in eight games. His record includes three wins and four defeats and one draw. In the fourth round of World Cup qualifying, Indonesia lost the opportunity to take part in the World Cup for the first time since independence with two defeats against Saudi Arabia (2:3) and Iraq (0:1).
