Eight gambling halls have been robbed since the beginning of last year

AMSTERDAM – The police are concerned about the increase in the number of robberies at casinos in the Netherlands. During the robberies, employees of the mostly small casinos are brutally threatened with weapons. Not only are the safes looted, customers also have to hand over items such as watches and smartphones. National police robbery coordinator Jos van der Stap suspects that the increase is because less and less is being paid with cash. It is still available in casinos. Thursday night it was hit in Ouddorp in South Holland, where robbers threatened staff and customers and made off with money. The impact is enormous.
