Positive response from 2024

The band Blues Pills said after their show in 2024 to the Rohlstuhl Crowdsurfing project: “The absolute highlight was the flying friday, in which metality ensured that rock and metal fans in a wheelchair could crowdsurfen during our show. How cool and great we will never forget and hope that more festivals inspire themselves let!”

Wacken stands for inclusion

The campaign stands exemplary for the inclusive self -image of the Wacken Open Air. The principle of the festival “Everyone has the right to Wacken” forms the basis for an experience that includes everyone, regardless of physical conditions. People with disabilities are not only welcome on the premises, but in any case always in the middle of it, according to the Wacken website.

In addition to the crowdsurfing campaign, the festival offers, among other things, a low-barrier camping area under the name “Wheels of Steel”. In front of the stages there are also platforms for wheelchair users: built on the inside, which enable good view of the shows.
