Vaasan Sport, which plays in the Ice Hockey SM League, has signed a contract for the rest of the season with the right-shooting Swedish winger Sebastian Wännström32, with.
Wännström has played successfully in the League in the past in light of power points. The Swede scored 33+13=46 power points in the Ässie shirt in the 2020–21 season and was the eighth best scorer in the series at the time. He was chosen Petri Kontiolan and by Josh Kestner at the end of the season with a star-studded attack.
In the 2021–22 season, Wännström played in the KHL for Dinamo Riga and the Swiss premier league for HC Ajoie. Last season, the Swede played in Germany, where he scored 31 points in 56 matches. This season, the man has not played anywhere yet.
Sports director of Sport Herkko Koski said in the club’s press release that the team needs experience, puck skills and goal-scoring skills in the top court.
