After waiting for a year and building weeks, the time has come. The floats can be driven out of the shed again and everyone in KainvaGelstad can enjoy: it is carnival!
And in Emmer-Compascuum, carnival is kicked off with the largest illuminated carnival parade in the Netherlands. A line-up of 87 participants, with beautifully lit floats, running groups, motorized vehicles and individual artists. The festivities are led by the beloved pair of prince, Prince Johan De 1st and Princess Yonina, traditionally accompanied by the council of 11.
