In the Axtmann trial, only the victim is in jail

One blow of the ax and the left hand was gone – at least as good as: main arteries, trunk nerves, tendons, carpal bones broken. It is like a medical miracle that Can Angelo L. (24) can say today: “My hand is doing very well, it has completely healed again.”

He owes this to the specialists from the Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin (UKB) in Marzahn. They operated for seven hours on December 16, 2021.

Nevertheless, on Monday the masseur refused to testify against the man who almost cut off his hand! His reason: “Because I don’t want to incriminate myself!”

The public prosecutor accuses the accused Kubilay K. (24) of attempted manslaughter in addition to dangerous bodily harm. He himself speaks of self-defense: “We have known each other since childhood and committed crimes together. I’m not a weakling, but I never stood a chance against him.”

After three years and ten months in prison for robbery, he was released in January 2021. “I tried to work. He wanted half my earnings, otherwise blood would spill,” claims the porter.

On December 16, 2021, the ex-boyfriends met at the hairdresser. Showdown on Tempelhofer Damm: “He’s much taller than me, does martial arts. In order not to be taken down, I hit first.”

With a 180 gram mini hatchet that he had taken to the hairdresser in the waistband of his trousers. “Can has beaten me up before, he wouldn’t have needed a gun to finish me off,” he claims.
