Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the Ukrainian company GSC Game World, the developer of the STALKER series of games, “Alexander”, “Cossacks”, “Heroes of Destroyed Empires”, follows from registry sites to which access is restricted in Russia.

The site gsc-game.com was blocked at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office dated February 24 on the basis of Art. 15.3 of Federal Law No. 149-FZ “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection,” the RKN website says.

When you try to go to the site, information appears that access to the resource is blocked based on the decision of the Russian authorities with reference to 149-FZ.

On March 15, the developer announced that he would stop selling his games in Russia. In addition, the company said that it would not deliver previously paid physical editions to the country, and recommended that retailers apply for a refund. GSC Game World promised to provide digital versions of games purchased by pre-order to Russian users.

Some other video game companies have also decided to suspend game sales in Russia. For example, the developer of FIFA and Sims Electronic Arts, as well as Activision Blizzard, which owns the rights to Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, did this. Epic Games, which is the creator of Fortnite, Battle Breakers and the Unreal engine, decided to suspend commercial relations with Russia, but did not block access to games. Sony Interactive Entertainment has stopped selling its PlayStation consoles and games in Russia.
