IN PICTURE. ‘Thuis’ employees hand over 34,000 signatures to Minister Dalle | TV

TVOn Monday, some ‘Thuis’ employees, together with the trade unions ACV and ACOD-VRT, handed over the 34,000 signatures of the petition “Let Home stay at home” to Flemish Minister for Media Benjamin Dalle (CD&V). It is a symbolic action with which they denounce their dissatisfaction with the outsourcing of ‘Thuis’ to the production company Eyeworks.

On Monday, about thirty trade unionists arrived in a small procession at the cabinet of Minister Dalle in Brussels. “Stop the demolition of the VRT”, it sounded loudly. In addition, they also had a few pamphlet boards with them with slogans such as “From now on we will write cut with a K” or “I won’t be able to sell that at home”.

“We want to send a signal to Minister Dalle that it is urgently time to once again set up healthy financing for the VRT. That means: re-indexing our operational resources”, said Michelle Graus, chairman ACOD-VRT.

A final discussion of the conclusion text will take place today with the sector committee at Minister Dalle’s. The trade unions will give a negative advice, but the Flemish government and the VRT management have already indicated that they will continue with the plans. This will then be subject to final approval by the Board of Directors. The unions believe that the VRT employees will be worse off materially due to the move.

“On a collective basis, we have not been able to land on equivalent terms. Talks will take place tomorrow and the day after tomorrow between employees individually and the management to review their individual situation and to make an adapted proposal,” says Carlos Van Hoeymissen of ACV.
