Tony van Diepen has run the limit for the World Indoor Championships. The athlete from Heerhugowaard ran 1 minute, 46 seconds and 49 hundredths in the 800 meters during a competition in New York. For Van Diepen this means a new personal record.
In the United States, Van Diepen finished third in his time. With that, he dived below the limit of 1.46.70. Koen Smet, Liam van der Schaaf, Lieke Klaver, Jessica Schilder and Menno Vloon already assured themselves of participating in the World Indoor Championships.
The World Indoor Championships will be held in Belgrade (Serbia) from March 18 to 20.
