In Gaza, Trump’s peace plan is still having difficulty getting off to a good start, but the border crossing is open

While the body of the last hostage has now been buried in Israel, not much appears to have changed on the ground in Gaza. Trump’s peace vision should ensure the disarmament of Hamas and the Israeli withdrawal from a larger part of Gaza, but neither side appears to have plans to do so yet. This weekend, Israel carried out heavy air strikes, but the Rafah border crossing will open on Monday.
