On Friday (June 17th), Jochen Distelmeyer released the third single of his album GEFELTE WAHRHEITEN, which will be released on July 1st. Spirits of love conjured up by summer float through the piece – both musically and lyrically: “Fever in the city and fate like a key to the soul” sings the 55-year-old to a lively melody that emerges from the warm, humid sounds of Italo Disco and Prefab Sprout.
Long live the liaison with all its confusion
Basically, Distelmeyer negotiates a romance that has just blossomed, the further course of which is not yet foreseeable – and with it all the feelings that this condition brings with it: confusion, longing, desire. So it says in the chorus: “Say what’s up or let me go / I don’t know what will happen when we meet again / Feel the rush and love yourself like in a fever”.
Sven Sindt is responsible for direction, camera and editing of the music video. The simple and conclusive plot: Jochen Distelmeyer plays the new song on the stage of a sparkling disco together with his band consisting of Katja Seiffert, Liza Schmidt, Antonia Lutopia and Anna Brovdii. Two kittens appear in the last few seconds – it’s June, the honey season has begun.
