Important news for Sebastian Aho

Aho is unlikely to be made captain of the Carolina Hurricanes again.

NHL fans will probably have to wait Sebastian Ahon appointment as captain of the Carolina Hurricanes for a while longer.

On Sunday, the Hurricanes actually hired their current captain, Jordan Staal, 34 with a four-year contract.

Staal has worn the redshirt letter C on his chest for the past four seasons. He has served as at least vice-captain every season since he joined the club in the fall of 2012.

Aho, 25, has been the Hurricanes’ vice-captain for the past two seasons now, and many fans were already waiting for him to be appointed to Staal’s boots.

Staali’s four-year extension contract is worth a total of 11.6 million dollars, or about 10.6 million euros. The annual value is therefore 2.9 million dollars.
