Volkswagen, which also includes brands such as Porsche, Audi and Škoda, achieved a turnover of more than 158 billion euros in the past six months, slightly less than a year earlier. The net profit amounted to almost 4.5 billion euros, compared to more than 7.2 billion euros in the first half of 2024.
The US will tax the import of cars made outside the country since April with a levy of 25 percent. Volkswagen previously announced that it had sold considerably fewer cars in North America in the past quarter. At the beginning of this year, more cars were sold in that region, but then the import duties were not yet in force.
