(toskanews) – A preview clip of I’m still here (I’m Still Here) by Walter Salles which has just won three Oscar nominations for Best Film, Best Actress (Fernanda Torres), and Best International Film.
The film by the Brazilian director arrives in Italian cinemas from January 30th after having won numerous awards such as the award for best screenplay at the Venice Film Festival and the Golden Globe for best female performance, again for Fernanda Torres.
Set in Rio de Janeiro in 1971, it tells the story of Brazil during the military dictatorship. The Paiva family lives in the only way possible to resist the climate of oppression that hovers over the country: with joy and affection, sharing everyday life with friends and relatives. One day, the Paivas find themselves victims of a violent and arbitrary action by the government: Eunice (Fernanda Torres) is suddenly left without her husband Rubens (Selton Mello), alone and with five children, forced to reinvent herself to protect her her loved ones and design a future different from the one society promises her.
