Humberto Tan is making a strong promotion at RTL 4. He will be seen in September, when the new TV season starts shortly after the summer holidays, at the place of the pregnant Eva Jinek.
TV channels traditionally pull out all the stops at the beginning of September to impress the viewer with attractive programming full of current affairs, fresh shows and big stars. The Netherlands then returns from vacation, advertisers wake up and the Christmas season is approaching. But the channel’s talk show diva is absent that month.
Strong promotion
Eva Jinek is due in September, so she will not be at the opening of the new TV season. Now it turns out that it is not Beau van Erven Dorens, but Humberto Tan who has been roped into broadcasting daily in this important television month. It is the first time in six years that he can open the TV season with a daily show.
After the debacle of RTL Late Night, Humberto has mainly been seen in the low season and on weekends, so he was a bit of a second fiddle. The fact that he can now be seen daily after the summer is a major promotion. But of course it could also be an omen in light of the speculation about Eva’s contract extension.
‘Are you going to miss it?
Humberto announced the news last night HLF8, where he sat at the table with Johnny de Mol. The host asked him about the end of the Saturday edition of his weekend talk show and whether he will miss it. “No, I will certainly not miss it, because I will continue,” the presenter replies.
Johnny: “But your Saturday night is going out.”
Humberto: “It goes out, yes, but that Saturday night will come back somewhere else.”
Johnny: “But listen now. I don’t know: 780 thousand, 750 thousand. I have a list of numbers here; we can really lick our fingers at that.”

Johnny: “Why do they throw this off on Saturday night?”
Humberto: “I think… One of the other reasons why they want to stop with Saturday night is that they want to do programs like De Verraders or Marieke’s new show at that place. That first.”

And secondly? “Eva is of course pregnant now and she won’t be here in September, so I will also do it every day during that period. In the summer I do it every day and on Sunday anyway. So I will not miss this table.”
In the summer, RTL 4 also comes with a daily humorous program, produced by Martijn Krabbé. It is not yet known who will host the show.
