Ilta faced questioning about her quick marriage

As a child, Ilta could not dream of a career as a singer, because she was afraid of failure.

It’s good to be a singer at Ilta, and that’s also the case with the music.

Ilta recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her Costa Rican-Finnish spouse Troy Silva with.

Although the most recent song Nobody else is not Ilta’s most typical break song, according to the singer, there is also room for interpretation.

Ilta and Troy got married after dating for about a year. However, something clicked right away.

– We both had a really strong feeling that this is now here.

– I understand that people make hasty decisions. Some people have said to me too, are you sure now, feelings can still change.

For Ilta, the questioning has rather served as a mirror of her own feelings.

– It’s healthy for people to question and they really can.

– If I got a bad feeling about this, it would tell about something. When people question it, it only confirms that there really is no problem here.

Career sudden departure

The husband also supports the singer musically.

Ilta’s career got a sudden start when in 2015 she got to perform with the rap artist Cheek Bridgesfor the song.

18-year-old Ilta, who had just graduated from high school, moved to Helsinki from her hometown Jyväskylä and went on tour with the artist around Finland. The experience was educational.

During these years, Ilta’s goals also became clearer.

– I learned to see that if things go like this, then that is also my goal, Ilta describes.

– I have a lot of respect for Kaija Koo, who is still pulling there.

Last year, Ilta participated in the New Music competition. However, the dreams of becoming a Eurovision representative have given way to other dreams.

– It was a good moment for that. Maybe that gave me what I was after.

With UMK, Ilta’s music found a larger audience in Finland. Now the dream is a lifelong career, and Ilta does not rule out the option of aiming for an international career.

However, Ilta’s career as a singer was only a secret dream for a long time. As a child, she dreamed of becoming an opera singer, but never wrote down her dreams in a notebook.

– It seemed difficult to say that I wanted to be a singer. It felt like I thought too much of myself.

– It was such a big dream that he didn’t dare to say it, because he would have been ashamed if it hadn’t come true.

Support networks

Ilta no longer thinks that she thinks too much of herself, but still prefers to keep her biggest goals to herself.

– When you have super big dreams, it’s easier to keep them close to you.

Ilta was encouraged to sing in a musical family. The family made music together, and everyone played their own instrument in the family choir.

However, Ilta was never pushed from home to become an artist. He is grateful that he was allowed to grow up in safety.

– There was no culture of idolization in the family, that you put others on a pedestal like crazy.

– Not once was there pressure on whether I should start making music.

The couple also work together. Troy is a photographer and helps Ilta with music videos, among other things.

– I understand when couples are told not to work together. Sometimes I have to go vacuuming or do something else so that I’m not annoyingly peeking over my shoulder, Ilta laughs.

According to Ilta, the couple have common rules of the game that protect the relationship.

– We like to go to a lot of places together and I’d love to take him to the fair, but of course that’s not always possible, Ilta says.
