Illegal espionage to the Spanish: the mayor of Madrid denounced her party

“I couldn’t imagine that my party leadership could be so cruel“, pronounced the mayor of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso in conference from Puerta del Sol. The referent of the Popular Party thus came out at the crossroads of the accusations against her brother Tomás, presumed beneficiary of a contract with the state. Signals that would have started from inside her party, as a result of the internal by conduction of space and the next candidacy that he maintains with Pablo Casado, president of the PP.

“There can be nothing more serious than accusing someone from one’s own house, with government responsibilities, of corruption,” he said. Diaz Ayuso, and stressed that this information comes directly from “Pablo Casado’s environment, and he does not deny it,” added the president of the Community of Madrid. In addition, she blamed the PP leader for hatching a plot of illegal espionage against her to try to discredit her.

The mayor challenged to document the accusations against her of alleged corruption. “They won’t find anything. I can make mistakes, but not illegalities”. Díaz Ayuso affirmed that the contract questioned with Priviet Sport does not contain “nothing illegal” and was audited by the General Intervention of the Community without irregularities being determined.

The former journalist turned politician added that her brother, Tomás Díaz Ayuso, “has been working as a salesperson in the health sector for 26 years, long before I entered politics, but I have never helped him to achieve anything at all in his working life”. However, it is noted that his government handpicked a 1.5 million contract, and that his brother charged the company a commission of 288,000 euros.

That the opposition attacks me is logicalbut for the leadership of my party to do it because I want to present myself to the PP Congress in Madrid is foolish,” insisted Díaz Ayuso, stressing that everything would respond to a political plot. According to the newspaper El País, the national leadership of the PP defends that ” it will go to the end” with the investigation of the alleged irregularities in the contract to the friend of the brother of the Madrid president.

“Let’s see what happened there. If there has been a crime. Let’s investigate why Paul Married, requires exemplary. She (Díaz Ayuso) will have to give explanations about this issue”, they reaffirmed from the environment of the leader of the PP. “There are irregularities in the contracts and they affect his brother”, they concluded.

The Madrilenian mayor comfortably surpassed the center-left opposition in the elections May 2021, in which he also doubled his votes compared to 2019, when he won 30 seats. “Freedom has triumphed”, he marked then Diaz Ayusoa former journalist turned politician, whose profile and strategies are closely followed locally by libertarian parties and the hard wing of Together for Change.

Opposition to quarantines, in a line that was locally related to referents of Together, Diaz Ayuso won the battle in the media, with an effective campaign (a famous spot in which she was seen running through the streets of Madrid, echoing the libertarian runner cry that was also heard in Argentina last year) and strong statements, claiming what he calls “the Madrid lifestyle”, in rejection of the restrictions imposed by Pedro Sanchezwhom he challenges, seeking to become the main option of the right for the next presidential elections.

“Spain is something else, Mr. (Pedro) Sánchez and here comes the best from every corner of the world to live in peace and freedom. Being a Madrilenian from Portugal, a Madrilenian from Cuba, from Córdoba, from Chamberí. Thank you all for your confidence. We promise you two years of free governmentto take care of everything great that we have achieved together”, he concluded in his inaugural speech.
