Ikkimel, Nina Chuba, Carolin Kebekus & more are calling for deepfake bans and femicide to be a criminal offense – with a ten-point plan to the federal government.

More than 250 prominent women, including Ikkimel, Nina Chuba and Carolin Kebekus, have presented a ten-point plan to combat digital sexual violence.

The paper is aimed at the federal government and proposes, among other things, to criminalize the creation of deepfakes and to enshrine femicide as a separate criminal offense in the criminal code. The initiators of the plan are the human rights activist Düzen Tekkal, the Green politician Ricarda Lang and the author Kristina Lunz.

Political support and legal initiatives

The plan has received political support. Federal Labor Minister Bärbel Bas (SPD) and Franziska Brantner, leader of the Green Party, signed the paper. Federal Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD) has already announced that she will present a draft for a digital violence protection law in the spring. This law could, among other things, allow IP addresses to be stored for three months to make it easier to identify perpetrators of digital violence.

Protests at the Brandenburg Gate

Parallel to the political initiatives, several thousand people took to the streets in Berlin. According to “Spiegel”, around 6,700 people gathered at the Brandenburg Gate, while the organizers spoke of up to 13,000 participants. The demonstrators carried signs with messages such as “Human rights also on the Internet” and “Shame must change sides”. Among them were politicians such as Saskia Esken (SPD) and the Green Party politicians Ricarda Lang, Lisa Paus and Katrin Göring-Eckardt.

Collien Fernandes’ allegations against Christian Ulmen

At the center of the debate is Collien Fernandes, who publicly makes allegations against her ex-husband Christian Ulmen. According to “Spiegel”, Fernandes accuses him of, among other things, psychological violence and manipulation. These allegations have sparked a wave of solidarity in the media and among celebrities, but at the same time have also provoked legal reactions.

Reactions from lawyers and companions

According to “Spiegel”, Christian Ulmen’s lawyers rejected the allegations and emphasized that there was no legally reliable evidence for the allegations. Companions like the actor Fahri Yardim expressed understanding and solidarity for Fernandes without commenting directly on the allegations. The writer Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre also publicly distanced himself from Ulmen after years of close friendship.
