Iivo Niskanen will not ski in the Kuopio WC. He reported it in his Instagram stories on saturday morning.
– I will not compete in the WC. Lungs and snow are equally dry after a period of frost. Then next week in Oberhof, Niskanen wrote.
It has been so cold in Kuopio that Friday’s double relays had to be cancelled. On Saturday, the 10 km free time trial races will be skied, when the weather has cooled down a bit.
Extreme cold is not good for skiers’ lungs, and Niskanen doesn’t want to take risks before the Olympics, which start in less than a month.
Puijo would have attended Niskanen’s home competitions, as he lives in Kuopio.
