Relegation threatens
Tottenham fire Tudor after just seven games

Spurs have to worry about staying in the Premier League. It is still unclear who will save the club as the third coach of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur parted ways with team manager Igor Tudor on Sunday – after just seven games under his management. The Croatian only took over the position at the end of February, but only won a single game.
The Spurs said the decision was made “amicably.” Tudor had followed the Dane Thomas Frank and signed a contract until the end of the season. Juventus had previously released him in October.
In the league, Spurs lost four of the five games under Tudor. Tottenham only got one point in a draw (1-1) at Liverpool FC. The Croatian celebrated his only win in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Atlético Madrid. After a 2:5 in the first leg, the 3:2 was not enough to advance.
Immediately after the defeat against Nottingham Forest (0-3) last Sunday, Tudor found out about his father’s death. Spurs said: “We also acknowledge the bereavement Igor has recently suffered and extend our support to him and his family at this difficult time.” In addition to Tudor, goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and fitness coach Riccardo Ragnacci are also leaving the club.
The lead over West Ham United in the first relegation zone is now just one point. Tottenham Hotspur finished last season in 17th place in the Premier League table, but were 13 points ahead of the relegation zone. The season ended with winning the Europa League. Coach Ange Postecoglou still had to leave.
Tottenham wants to announce who will take over as Tudor’s successor “in due course”.
