On Thursday (June 19) Iggy Pop played in the citadel in Berlin. It was the second of five exclusive open-air concerts in Germany. Previously, he performed in Hamburg, next appearance in Halle an der Saale, Munich and Cologne.
10,000 people at the “Godfather of Punk”
Hardly any artist shaped rock music as Iggy Pop. With The Stooges and as a solo artist, he set standards – albums like “Funhouse” (1970), “Raw Power” (1973) or “Lust for Life” (1977) are classics. For his life’s work, he received the Grammy and the Polar Music Prize. In 2023 he returned loudly to his roots with “Every Loser”.

His appearance in the citadel was part of the 20th anniversary of the Citadel Music Festival. About 10,000 visitors: Inside the “Godfather of Punk” were allowed to experience up close. Here are some impressions of the concert:
