Azalea may have announced the end of her music career. She would now be more interested in designing.
After Iggy Azalea released her single “Money Come” in the summer of 2023 and announced that she was working on a new album, fans’ hopes grew. Her current record THE END OF AN ERA is already from 2021. Unfortunately, the rapper now has to disappoint her fans – the record will no longer be finished and she is also unsure about her entire music career.
“I resisted changes in myself”
“This is going to take a long time… So only bother reading if you love me,” Iggy Azalea begins her text on X, sharing her decision. She continues: “I have always been someone who enjoys being creative and seeing my ideas come to life. For a long time I used music to get my big, crazy ideas out into the world.”
Self-reflective, she writes down her thoughts and clears up some rumors: “I know a lot of people have the idea that I was ‘bullied away from music’ and I’ve always laughed about that because I would never let anything bully me away ! I’m just too stubborn for that. I think I’ve even resisted change in myself at times simply because I don’t like being seen as someone who gives up.”
Music is no longer the focus of her passion
“The truth is, I’ve known for a long time that I’m more interested in design and creative direction than writing songs. For many of you, this won’t be shocking to read. It shows in my work. Haha! All joking aside, I actually spend a lot more time on that side of things… because that’s where I’m the most confident,” the “Fancy” singer continues.
What some may have guessed at this point in her message – Iggy Azalea will stop working on her new record and concentrate on what she likes more: “That’s why I want to let you know that I won’t be finishing my album. It was put on hiatus for a few months while I gave direction to another project and the truth is I just haven’t felt the urge to start it again. I feel truly happy and passionate in my daily life when I focus on it, and that’s why I want to stick with what is undeniably best for me.”
She concludes by letting her fans know, “I can’t wait to share some of the things I’ve been a part of with you and hope you’ll see my quirk and humor in everything I tackle!”
