According to Talent Trends 2025 from PageGroup, 35 percent of German employees have never been promoted – a clear signal for stagnating career paths. The reasons range from economic uncertainty to lack of development processes to outdated management structures. The situation in Austria (44 percent) and France/Spain (40 percent each) is particularly dramatic – Germany is in midfield with France and Italy (37 percent).
Initiative: become visible and show guidance
