‘If Jack van Gelder calls me h**r, I’ll snatch him!’

Fidan Ekiz would find it unacceptable if Jack van Gelder called her ‘h**r’, as he did to a colleague. “Then he now ate his breakfast from a straw,” she jokes.

Jack van Gelder is under fire for questionable behavior in his time at NOS Sport. In addition to the bad incident, he also called a former colleague a ‘h**r’ several times and ensured that she was expelled from the team of reporters for the European Football Championship. The swearing earned him an official warning.

Straw breakfast

Fidan Ekiz would therefore never put up with letting yourself be scolded by a colleague, she writes in her column Woman. Although she understands that you can’t always be articulate. “It’s the culture of fear. The owners do not intervene. The show must go on. And neither should you, because supporting your colleague apparently means that you will soon be in a bad position yourself.”

“And so it is swallow or go,” she continues. “Or, worse, you start to believe that you are acting. Your perception is, as it were, denied. ‘Maybe what he said isn’t so bad after all…’ If Jack van Gelder had called me or my daughter ‘h**r’, he would now be eating his breakfast from a straw. Just kidding!”

Aggressive Fidan

Even if it’s not a joke, we would immediately believe it, because Fidan turns out to be quite a temper frog. Then it is not about the fact that she twice live on television in the past year took the blood from under the nails of her flashing light sweetheart Wierd Duk, but about the recent taxi incident.

Fidan ended up in a street fight with a taxi driver, she recently confessed. “Sometimes I’m surprised I haven’t yet been pilloried à la Glennis Grace. Really, I have it in me.”

To watch out

TV colleagues had better be careful with Fidan, because the fuse is short. Very short. TV stars who suffer from ‘self-overestimation and narcissism’ don’t have to knock on her door.

“The golden boys of the television have to perform under high voltage? As if they work for the explosives service!”
