Peter Forsberg in an interview with Sportsnet, is a little doubtful about Sweden’s chances of success in the event organized in February Four Nations in the tournament.
– I’m only worried about the fact that we do have skilled players, but I don’t know if they are big enough. When I played, we had [Mats] I followed and [Fredrik] Modwho were big guys. Now we have [Jesper] Bratt, [William] Nylander and Elias Petterssonwhich are not very big guys. Let’s see how it goes, Forsberg thought.
The puck hero was also asked to name the favorite to win the tournament and evaluate how Sweden ranks.
– If I’m honest, I might get killed in Sweden, Forsberg joked at first.
But then he gave his honest opinion.
– USA and Canada are favourites. Sweden and Finland have a chance. Everyone can win, but they are maybe in third and fourth place at the moment, Forsberg thought.
He also found good reasons for his point of view.
– If you look at the points exchange, there are not many Swedes in the top 30.
However, Forsberg underlined that he does not want to spoil the Swedish team. It’s just that Canada and the USA have really tough bundles.
– It will be difficult.
The super tournament kicks off on February 12. At the Canada-Sweden game.
