Max Verstappen doesn’t hold back about his opinion in Formula 1; the four-time champion is known for his open words. Now the Red Bull driver has clearly communicated his state of affairs to a critical fan.

The title fight in Formula 1 is getting more and more heated these days. After both McLarens were disqualified after the Las Vegas GP at the weekend, Max Verstappen, now tied for second place in the drivers’ standings, is now preparing to have a clear say in the World Cup crown. It’s definitely not boring in the premier class at the moment.

However, there were certainly phases in which there was not the greatest tension and therefore a certain desolation among the fans.

A fan who was quoted in a YouTube format by the US computer magazine “Wired” in which Verstappen was present may have alluded to such a phase. Here the Dutchman responded to various questions and statements from F1 supporters and labeled one of the critics an “idiot,” with a friendly but firm expression on his face.

Verstappen: “I object to that”

The fan had previously written: “Racing in the rain is boring, the cars are slow and there is no racing. The only entertainment is when drivers make mistakes.” Which eventually led Verstappen to respond: “Sir or madam, you are an idiot.”

The four-time Formula 1 world champion continued: “Racing in the rain is not boring, the cars are not slow and most of the time there is racing.” The drivers’ mistakes are “definitely not the only entertainment. I strongly disagree with that.”

The Red Bull driver added that he likes both wet races and the Grands Prix in the dry. “It also depends on how much rain there is at the beginning of the race and how much in the middle. That can be very entertaining,” emphasized the 28-year-old.
