The US hockey women won the “eternal” World Cup final against arch-rival Canada and won their eleventh title.

The Americans prevailed in the middle of the political tensions of the two neighboring countries on Easter Sunday in the turbulent final of the record tournament in the Czech Budweis with 3: 2 (0: 0, 2: 2, 1: 1, 1: 0) after extra time.

The United States initially took the lead in the middle third with a double strike, but then the Canadians in turn struck back with two quick goals. In the extension, Tessa Janecke then shot the United States to the title after more than 17 minutes.

Only Finland was able to break the final series 2019

It was the 23rd final in a total of 24 World Cups by the United States and Canada together – in 2019 the United States prevailed against Finland. The USA, which Germany had eliminated in the quarter -finals (3-0), are now “only” missing two titles to equalize with record world champion Canada (13).

The German ice hockey women failed in the quarter-finals on the world champion.
