Switzerland followed the United States to the United States in the final of the Ice Hockey World Cup. The Confederates fully lived up in the semi -finals of their favorite role and defeated the surprise team from Denmark with 7: 0 (3: 0, 1: 0, 3: 0).

The Swiss, which was highly traded before the tournament, showed the Danes the limits from the start. The co-host of the World Cup, which previously defeated Germany and the top team from Canada, defensively had his hands full. At no point in the game indicated anything to a possible victory of the Danes.

Switzerland at the back and front the better team

Nino Niederreiter, who held his shin in a sharp cross and steered the puck into the goal (10th), Ken Jäger (13th) and again Niederreiter (18th), the superiority of the Swiss brought silence on the scoreboard and the previously euphoric Danish fans.

And the Danes? In the first third, they hardly ever came dangerously in front of the Swiss goal. And even with a very long 5: 3 surcharge (1.25 minutes) in the middle third, nothing jumped out. How to do it showed on the opposite side Denis Malgin (38th), who, with the goal to 4: 0, placed the course in the direction of the World Cup final.

The last third then fully got to the show of the Swiss. While the Danes hardly did any resistance, Sandro Schmid (45th), Damien Riat (53.) and Tyler Moy (54th) set the final points in a very one-sided World Cup semi-final.
