The team of national coach Harold Kreis showed a clear upward trend thanks to a hat-trick from NHL professional Lukas Reichel at 6:2 (0:0, 2:1, 4:1). Since Latvia previously defeated the USA 4-2, the selection of the German Ice Hockey Association is dependent on a lot of support from the competitors.
