Ice hockey: Two DEB stars in the World Cup All-Star team

Two German national ice hockey players have been voted into the all-star team for the world championships in Latvia and Finland.

Defender Moritz Seider from the Detroit Red Wings and striker John-Jason Peterka from the Buffalo Sabers were chosen by the trade journalists, as the world association announced after the 2:5 of the German selection in the World Cup final in Tampere against record champion Canada.

The World Cup Directorate of World Federation IIHF also voted 21-year-old Peterka the best striker of the tournament. He was the most successful German scorer with six goals and six assists.

The German ice hockey selection of national coach Harold Kreis missed the first World Cup title, but had sensationally reached the final and celebrated the first German World Cup medal in 70 years with silver.
