During the usual handshake at the end of the match, the player involved was targeted with racist insults by several Merano fans. The League has launched an investigation. Both clubs and referees submitted their statements, which were examined by the Disciplinary Committee. HC Meran were fined, but took further internal measures and lifetime stadium access bans were issued to the offending fans.
