    After more than ten minutes, the Eisbären are the team dominating the game and are currently winning the disc in the neutral zone again and again. Their forechecking is rewarded, but the capital city team has not yet been able to convert this dominance into goals.

    The polar bears establish themselves in the attacking third and come over Wissmann on the right side. He moves towards the goal with the puck on his stick and shoots from close range to the far corner, but Ančička saves on the line. Wissmann pokes, but once again the goalie remains the winner.

    The Eisbären go into the duel with the following starting six. The American Hildebrand starts between the posts. Melchiori, Finkelstein, Tiffels, Byron and Eder also start. At Cologne, Ančička starts in goal instead of Pantkowski. Sennhenn, Dietz, Proft, Aubry and Storm are also in the front row.

    After three wins in a row, Cologne lost their last three games in the DEL. After defeats against Munich and Frankfurt, the Haie lost 2-3 in the penalty shootout against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven. This puts Cologne in eighth place in the table with 24 points. However, the first direct duel with the Berliners this season went to the Eisbären. At the beginning of October, the capital city team beat the Rhinelanders 5-2.

    The Eisbären are in very good shape and have won nine of their last eleven games. Head coach Serge Aubin’s team only lost against Bremerhaven and Straubing. The capital city team recently won their last three games. The 10-2 win against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers last Tuesday was particularly impressive. With 35 points, the German champions of 2021 and 2022 are in first place in the German Ice Hockey League. Five of their seven home games went to the hosts. The Berliners only lost against Bremerhaven and Straubing.
