Now it’s busy in front of Mattsson. The goalie fends off a shot from a slightly greater distance; Eder stands in front of him with his back to the goal. A few Mannheimers are quickly there, the puck is free for a moment before Mattsson throws himself on it.

7:45 p.m

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Lukas Kälble (Adler Mannheim)
Now the first shortfall for the guests! Kälble is on the left in the attack zone in the duel against Lancaster and gets the time penalty for hitting the Berliner.

19:43
The puck bounces from his own man to Stettmer, who is immediately surrounded by teammates and opponents. The disc is briefly exposed in the goal area, then the Berlin goalie can fix it.

19:42
Overall, this is a good start for the Eagles. It is not uncommon for them to get the disc in the slot and have it well occupied. In addition, the forechecking is good at times.

19:41
The better chance comes a few seconds after the power play. A shot from the blue line bounces off the boards and into the slot. From a slightly left position, Fohrler passes the puck in front of the goal, where the Eisbären can clear.

7:40 p.m
In the power play, Mannheim cannot dangerously get the puck into the slot. The polar bears defend well and come out of the minority relatively unscathed.

7:37 p.m

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Jonas Müller (Eisbären Berlin)
Müller is behind against Mattinen and has to go down for two minutes because of a stick.
3.
7:36 p.m
Things continue at this pace! Vikingstad captures the puck in the attacking zone and cannot actually put the puck on goal in the slot. On the other hand, Bennett fails from the left position to Stettmer, the next great chance for the Adler.
2.
19:34
The Eagles also got them early first big opportunity! Mattinen prevails against two opponents in the left face-off circle and passes the puck across to the right circle. Plachta’s one-timer can be parried by Stettmer.

19:32
And one in the first minute great opportunity for Berlin! Ty Ronning escapes the Mannheimers on the left and runs alone towards Mattson, who is able to spread out and finds his way into the game with a save.

19:32
Let’s go! Mannheim starts with goalie Mattsson, before that plays with Kälble and Gawanke as well as Michaelis, Reichel and Ehl. Goalie Stettmer, Müller, Reinke, Noebels, Eder and Kirk form the starting six for the Eisbären.

Game start
19:29
After the national anthem has been sung, the Uber Arena is ready for what is supposed to be the last game of this final series. Can the Eisbären celebrate their title in front of their home crowd?
19:27
The Polar Bears can celebrate the championship with a sweep. Since the final series has been played in a best-of-seven format (since 2014), only one team has achieved this. In 2016, EHC Red Bull Munich played a perfect final series against Grizzlys Wolfsburg. The Eisbären at least have experience with perfect series against the Adler Mannheim; last year they reached the final with a sweep against Mannheim.
19:22
Especially since the Mannheim team spectacularly won their two home games against the Eisbären in the main round with 8:5 and 7:1. In Berlin there were two defeats in overtime (3:4) and in regular time (2:4).
7:18 p.m
But in the playoffs the Eisbären prevailed with two 4-2 series against the Straubing Tigers and the main round winner Kölner Haie. The Adler Mannheim made it even clearer against the Fischtown Pinguins and EHC Red Bull Munich (4:1 each) and went into the final series with a big chest as second in the main round. But the polar bears have had the say so far.
19:13
And so the Eisbären can make their twelfth championship in the DEL perfect in the fourth game. It would be the third title in a row and the fifth in the last six seasons – and that after a fairly weak main round. Before the other championships, the Eisbären always went into the playoffs as leaders or second, this year the reigning champions were only sixth.
7:08 p.m
The first three games of the final series clearly went to the Eisbären. In the first game they stole home advantage from Mannheim with a clear 7:3 win. A 5-1 win followed in front of the home crowd. Thanks to Mik’s hat trick, Berlin also won game three 5-1. Mannheim has so far struggled with taking advantage of their own chances and can do little to counter Berlin’s switching game.
7:00 p.m
Sweep to defend the title? After a perfect and very dominant series so far, the Eisbären Berlin can already celebrate their twelfth German championship against Adler Mannheim today. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Uber Arena.
