Ibiza trip after bankruptcy in Mainz – Salihamidzic counters Magath’s criticism

After FC Bayern’s 3-1 draw against Mainz 05 on Saturday, Hertha coach Felix Magath criticized the German record champions – and followed up on Sunday. Now the sports director of Munich has commented.

What about the attitude of FC Bayern in the last Bundesliga games of the season? Munich are already champions early, so in the last few games it’s about nothing for the German record champions. After the largely bloodless performance of coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team on Saturday at 1: 3 in Mainz, Hertha coach Felix Magath sharply criticized Bayern (read more about this here).

And Magath followed up on Sunday. “I would definitely not allow something like that, something like that would not come to mind,” he said of the picture. Reason: It was previously announced that numerous Munich stars would take a short trip to Ibiza after the Mainz game. “Once a championship celebration is understandable, but not for three weeks,” said Magath.

The reason: FCB is still playing against VfB Stuttgart next weekend – a direct competitor of the Berliners in the relegation battle. Magath’s concern: Bayern could also lose the game against the Swabians and thus have a significant impact on the relegation battle.

“Team-building measure”

Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has now responded to the 68-year-old’s criticism of the trip to Ibiza. A corresponding request from the team during the week was accepted as a “team-building measure,” said Salihamidzic on Sunday afternoon at the picture. For the Bosnian it is “completely clear” that the Bayern players will act highly professionally against VfB.

Hertha are in 15th place with 33 points two games to go and still have to play against Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund in the last two rounds. Stuttgart (29) is playing next weekend in Munich and in the season finale at home against 1. FC Köln.
